   I picked up Layton (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Vanilla and Cardamom come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Geranium and Violet feel carefully balanced. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I keep reaching for Layton more than I expected to. The opening is built around Apple and Lavender — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Vanilla and Cardamom — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I have owned Layton for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Cardamom and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Vanilla and Cardamom — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2016 release, Layton deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Apple with a hint of Lavender — it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Geranium with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Give it a little time and Geranium with Violet comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I wanted to like it more than I did.
