   A decant of Basil & Neroli sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Basil — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2016 release, Basil & Neroli deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Basil, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Neroli feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

As it settles, White Musk and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

That first spray gives a lovely Basil impression that dries down smoothly. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Everyone keeps talking about Basil & Neroli, so I finally gave it a proper test. That first spray gives a lovely Basil impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown leans on White Musk plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Basil & Neroli (2016) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Neroli, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Neroli comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
