   A friend passed me a decant of All About Eve (1996) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Apple/Floral Notes impression that dries down smoothly. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Joop! experience was this one, All About Eve (1996). As it settles, Vanilla and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I picked up All About Eve (1996) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   Everyone keeps talking about All About Eve, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Apple with Floral Notes peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Cinnamon with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I have owned All About Eve for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Vanilla and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
