   A decant of Almaz sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Right away I get mostly Black Currant alongside Calabrian bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Black Currant with a hint of Calabrian bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Almaz. The opening is built around Black Currant and Calabrian bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Give it a little time and Raspberry with Heliotrope comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The drydown leans on Brown sugar plus Madagascar Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

The composition is well made but not for me.
