   For a 2013 release, Killer Queen deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Forest Fruits with a hint of Plum — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Forest Fruits with Plum peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   My first Katy Perry experience was this one, Killer Queen (2013). That first spray gives a lovely Forest Fruits/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Praline and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Killer Queen (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Forest Fruits and Plum — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Forest Fruits/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine Sambac with Frangipani, which is where the fragrance really shines. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
