My first Kenzo experience was this one, Ça Sent Beau (1997). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Coriander, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Vetiver and Amber come through and give it real depth. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Kenzo knows how to compose, and Ça Sent Beau (1997) is proof. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Coriander comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Coriander feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ça Sent Beau. The first minutes are all about Mandarin Orange with a hint of Patchouli — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Coriander comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

I keep reaching for Ça Sent Beau more than I expected to. The first minutes are all about Mandarin Orange with a hint of Patchouli — it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Coriander, which is where the fragrance really shines. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ça Sent Beau. As it settles, Vetiver and Amber come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Patchouli peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

A friend passed me a decant of Ça Sent Beau (1997) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Vetiver and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Patchouli, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

For a 1997 release, Ça Sent Beau deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Coriander, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A friend passed me a decant of Ça Sent Beau (1997) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange and Patchouli — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Mandarin Orange/Patchouli impression that dries down smoothly. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

For a 1997 release, Ça Sent Beau deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Vetiver and Amber come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Vetiver and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
