   I picked up Ombre Noire (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Fig Leaf and Mint — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco Leaf with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   My first Lalique experience was this one, Ombre Noire (2017). As it settles, Cognac and Myrhh come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Fig Leaf with Mint peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Picked up a sample of Ombre Noire after reading the community buzz (2017). The first minutes are all about Fig Leaf with a hint of Mint — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Tobacco Leaf and Cinnamon feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Ombre Noire (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Tobacco Leaf with Cinnamon comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Fig Leaf alongside Mint, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Give it a little time and Tobacco Leaf with Cinnamon comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
