   Picked up a sample of Poeme after reading the community buzz (1995). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Mimosa with Vanilla Flower, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Orange Blossom and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   For a 1995 release, Poeme deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Orange Blossom and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Narcissus with Datura peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Lancôme experience was this one, Poeme (1995). The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Orange Blossom and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Narcissus and Datura — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

That first spray gives a lovely Narcissus/Datura impression that dries down smoothly. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Mimosa with Vanilla Flower, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
