   I picked up Rôses Berberanza (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Honey and Hazelnut come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Tangerine — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A couple of wears in, Rôses Berberanza has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Tangerine — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Tangerine, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Lancôme knows how to compose, and Rôses Berberanza (2017) is proof. As it settles, Honey and Hazelnut come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Tangerine, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of Rôses Berberanza (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Damask Rose with Pistachio, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Tangerine, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 2017 release, Rôses Berberanza deserves more attention than it gets. The base rests on Honey and Hazelnut — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Honey plus Hazelnut and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
