   L’Artisan Parfumeur knows how to compose, and Tea for Two (2000) is proof. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Tobacco plus Honey and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   For a 2000 release, Tea for Two deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Tea/Star Anise impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Spices feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The very first sniff is crisp Tea with Star Anise peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Tea for Two. The base rests on Tobacco and Honey — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Tobacco and Honey come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The base rests on Tobacco and Honey — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
