   My first M. Micallef experience was this one, Ananda (2005). The base rests on White Musk and Vanille — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Plum peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I have owned Ananda for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Plum peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. The composition is well made but not for me.

   I picked up Ananda (2005) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on White Musk plus Vanille and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, White Musk and Vanille come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Picked up a sample of Ananda after reading the community buzz (2005). That first spray gives a lovely Pear/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Everyone keeps talking about Ananda, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, White Musk and Vanille come through and give it real depth. The base rests on White Musk and Vanille — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Ananda on and off for a few weeks now (2005). The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Plum — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Mimosa with Violet comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

    For a 2005 release, Ananda deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Mimosa and Violet feel carefully balanced. The base rests on White Musk and Vanille — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I wanted to like it more than I did.
