   I’ve been wearing Mauboussin on and off for a few weeks now (2000). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Ylang-Ylang with White Peach, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Ylang-Ylang and White Peach feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, Mauboussin has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Patchouli and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up Mauboussin (2000) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Patchouli and Benzoin — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Yellow Plum with Mirabelle peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The opening is built around Yellow Plum and Mirabelle — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I have owned Mauboussin for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Yellow Plum with Mirabelle peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
