   Everyone keeps talking about Mugler Cologne, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Neroli with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Neroli and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I’ve been wearing Mugler Cologne on and off for a few weeks now (2001). The base rests on Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Neroli alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A couple of wears in, Mugler Cologne has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into African Orange Flower, which is where the fragrance really shines. The first minutes are all about Neroli with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

The base rests on Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
