   For a 1914 release, Chypre Mousse deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Fennel alongside Mint, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Oriza L. Legrand knows how to compose, and Chypre Mousse (1914) is proof. Give it a little time and Oakmoss with Fern comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Oakmoss and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Chypre Mousse has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Oakmoss with Fern, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Oakmoss and Fern feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   Everyone keeps talking about Chypre Mousse, so I finally gave it a proper test. The first minutes are all about Fennel with a hint of Mint — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Oakmoss with Fern comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
