   My first Parfums de Marly experience was this one, Pegasus Exclusif (2020). The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Heliotrope peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vanilla and Guaiac Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A couple of wears in, Pegasus Exclusif has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Guaiac Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Cardamom and Heliotrope — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bitter Almond with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Vanilla and Guaiac Wood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
