   A couple of wears in, Vaara has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Peony, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Quince and Rose Water — bright and immediately recognizable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I keep reaching for Vaara more than I expected to. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Peony feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Honey and White Musk come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Picked up a sample of Vaara after reading the community buzz (2013). As it settles, Honey and White Musk come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Peony, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

Give it a little time and Rose with Peony comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Vaara (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Honey plus White Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Quince with a hint of Rose Water — it grabs attention without being pushy. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Peony, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
