   I picked up Phantom Parfum (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Cedarwood feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Phantom Parfum. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Tolu Balsam and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Vanilla and Tolu Balsam come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. The composition is well made but not for me.

Give it a little time and Lavender with Cedarwood comes forward — smooth and well done. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   For a 2023 release, Phantom Parfum deserves more attention than it gets. The opening is built around Cardamom and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Cardamom with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
