   A decant of Notorious sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The base rests on Patchouli and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Black Currant alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Notorious (2008) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Black Currant with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Black Currant and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A couple of wears in, Notorious has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Carnation and Peony feel carefully balanced. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Notorious for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Patchouli and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I would happily buy a full bottle.
