   I keep reaching for Pure Turquoise more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Birch plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Cactus Flower and Lily-of-the-Valley — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Pure Turquoise (2005) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Lily with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Birch and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Pure Turquoise (2005) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Cactus Flower alongside Lily-of-the-Valley, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Cactus Flower with a hint of Lily-of-the-Valley — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   My first Ralph Lauren experience was this one, Pure Turquoise (2005). The drydown leans on Birch plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Cactus Flower alongside Lily-of-the-Valley, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A decant of Pure Turquoise sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lily with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Cactus Flower/Lily-of-the-Valley impression that dries down smoothly. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The heart is the best part for me: Lily and Orange Blossom feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
