   I keep reaching for Charlie more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Give it a little time and Lily-of-the-Valley with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   For a 1973 release, Charlie deserves more attention than it gets. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Hiacynth peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Charlie. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Hiacynth peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Geranium feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Charlie has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Hiacynth — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Oakmoss and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
