   Everyone keeps talking about Accento, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Pink Pepper and Iris feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Pink Pepper with Iris comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Accento (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Pink Pepper with Iris comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Hyacinth peeking through, very much my kind of start. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A decant of Accento sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Musk plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Hyacinth peeking through, very much my kind of start. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Accento has really grown on me. As it settles, Musk and Amber come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Pineapple/Hyacinth impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Sospiro Perfumes knows how to compose, and Accento (2011) is proof. The drydown leans on Musk plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Pineapple with a hint of Hyacinth — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Accento. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Hyacinth peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pink Pepper with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Accento (2011) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Musk and Amber come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Pineapple/Hyacinth impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
