   Tom Ford knows how to compose, and Sahara Noir (2013) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Labdanum with Cypress peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Egyptian balsam plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of Sahara Noir (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Labdanum alongside Cypress, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Incense and Beeswax feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Sahara Noir (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Labdanum/Cypress impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Labdanum alongside Cypress, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Sahara Noir. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Incense with Beeswax, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Labdanum/Cypress impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Give it a little time and Incense with Beeswax comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
