   I’ve been wearing Scent on and off for a few weeks now (2002). The first minutes are all about Green Tea with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Green Tea and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Scent. As it settles, Sandalwood and Ambergris come through and give it real depth. Give it a little time and Rose with Jasmine Sambac comes forward — smooth and well done. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Costume National knows how to compose, and Scent (2002) is proof. The opening is built around Green Tea and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Sandalwood and Ambergris — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Scent for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Green Tea with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Jasmine Sambac, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I wanted to like it more than I did.
