   I picked up Insense Ultramarine (1994) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Magnolia feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Watermelon with a hint of Black Currant — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   For a 1994 release, Insense Ultramarine deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Iris with Magnolia comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Watermelon with Black Currant peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I keep reaching for Insense Ultramarine more than I expected to. The base rests on Tobacco and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Magnolia, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Everyone keeps talking about Insense Ultramarine, so I finally gave it a proper test. That first spray gives a lovely Watermelon/Black Currant impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown leans on Tobacco plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
