   I picked up Black (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Plum with Bitter Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Black (2011) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Bitter Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Give it a little time and Tuberose with Ylang-Ylang comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
