   A decant of Aoud Night sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Leather plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Agarwood (Oud)/Fruity Notes impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   Montale knows how to compose, and Aoud Night (2014) is proof. The first minutes are all about Agarwood (Oud) with a hint of Fruity Notes — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Leather and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   For a 2014 release, Aoud Night deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Agarwood (Oud) with a hint of Fruity Notes — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Agarwood (Oud) with Fruity Notes peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A decant of Aoud Night sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Leather plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Moroccan Rose with Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
