   A friend passed me a decant of Blue Matcha (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Leather with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Mate and Powdery Notes come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I’ve been wearing Blue Matcha on and off for a few weeks now (2021). The opening is built around Matcha Tea and Black Currant — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Matcha Tea with a hint of Black Currant — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A decant of Blue Matcha sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Matcha Tea/Black Currant impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Leather with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Blue Matcha. As it settles, Mate and Powdery Notes come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Mate plus Powdery Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
