   Everyone keeps talking about Oud Saphir, so I finally gave it a proper test. The first minutes are all about Pink Pepper with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Suede with Birch, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Oud Saphir (2015) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Pink Pepper with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I picked up Oud Saphir (2015) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Agarwood (Oud) and Birch come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Oud Saphir (2015) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Pink Pepper and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   Atelier Cologne knows how to compose, and Oud Saphir (2015) is proof. Give it a little time and Suede with Birch comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Suede and Birch feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
