   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Hero. The first minutes are all about Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   A friend passed me a decant of Hero (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Juniper with Black Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Atlas Cedar and Virginian Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Hero, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Juniper with Black Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Juniper with Black Pepper, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Hero. The heart is the best part for me: Juniper and Black Pepper feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Atlas Cedar plus Virginian Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I picked up Hero (2021) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Atlas Cedar and Virginian Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

Give it a little time and Juniper with Black Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
