A friend passed me a decant of Red Aoud (2008) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Agarwood (Oud)/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Saffron, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I have owned Red Aoud for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Rose with Saffron comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Agarwood (Oud) with Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I wanted to like it more than I did.

Picked up a sample of Red Aoud after reading the community buzz (2008). The very first sniff is crisp Agarwood (Oud) with Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Agarwood (Oud) with a hint of Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This one gets my highest praise β€” beautiful from start to finish.

Everyone keeps talking about Red Aoud, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Rose with Saffron comes forward β€” smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Agarwood (Oud) alongside Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I’ve been wearing Red Aoud on and off for a few weeks now (2008). The drydown leans on Orris Root plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Saffron, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Red Aoud. The first minutes are all about Agarwood (Oud) with a hint of Pepper β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. As it settles, Orris Root and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Everyone keeps talking about Red Aoud, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Saffron feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely Agarwood (Oud)/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Red Aoud. Right away I get mostly Agarwood (Oud) alongside Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Saffron feel carefully balanced. It performs better in warmer weather β€” in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I picked up Red Aoud (2008) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Orris Root and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Orris Root and Sandalwood β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
