   I’ve been wearing Heartless Helen on and off for a few weeks now (2019). That first spray gives a lovely Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Heartless Helen (2019) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Woodsy Notes — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Penhaligon’s experience was this one, Heartless Helen (2019). The base rests on Woodsy Notes — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Heartless Helen. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Tuberose comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
