   Picked up a sample of So Elixir Purple after reading the community buzz (2012). The base rests on Patchouli and Incense — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Patchouli and Incense come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Yves Rocher knows how to compose, and So Elixir Purple (2012) is proof. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Vetiver, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A couple of wears in, So Elixir Purple has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Vetiver, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Vetiver feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Everyone keeps talking about So Elixir Purple, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Vetiver feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.
