   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Lemon Island. Right away I get mostly Lemon, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Lemon — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   For a 2020 release, Lemon Island deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Madagascar Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A friend passed me a decant of Lemon Island (2020) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Indian Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
