   A friend passed me a decant of Basso (2022) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Carnation with Labdanum, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Picked up a sample of Basso after reading the community buzz (2022). The base rests on Vetiver and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I’ve been wearing Basso on and off for a few weeks now (2022). The base rests on Vetiver and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. The composition is well made but not for me.

   I picked up Basso (2022) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Vetiver and Cedar come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. The composition is well made but not for me.
